Wish lists

I interviewed three fabulous Polyvorians, asking them what they are hoping for for the holidays this year.
Meet the fabulous three I interviewed...

Meet Angie, a stylish Polyvorian
who does NOT follow trends-
she sets them!

Joanna, a twenty-four year old
fashion student who always has
the hottest outfits on her page.

HBT is definitely one
of the most colorful
Polyvorians out there.
Check out her blog.

What's the number one item on your wish list this holiday season?
EtchaSketchinLola: I'm dying for a Marc Jacobs bag. I found this amazing tote of his that was just too cute for existence and I really NEED to have it.
Incubeautee: It's kind of funny that every year I write a Christmas List of all the things that I want and I'm 24! :) Call me immature. Anyway, this year the holidays came so quickly, I didn't get to think about what I really wanted.
HeyBigTrender: TIME. It's so weird but everything is going at breakneck speed and all I want is more time to do things. :)

If you could have anything you wanted, no matter what the cost, what would you want?
EtchaSketchinLola: I would want a penthouse apartment on 5th Avenue.
Incubeautee:  To graduate college HAHA! :)
HeyBigTrender: I would get a private jet. LOL.

What stores do you do most of your holiday shopping at?
EtchaSketchinLola: I spent most of my holiday shopping money between Macy's and Best Buy.
Incubeautee: A little bit of everywhere from Macy's to Best Buy to Bath and Body Works.
HeyBigTrender: I actually do my holiday shopping at the mall like regular people, but I like going to thrift stores to get people unique gifts.

I hope you all got what you wished for and had a great holiday!!

Leather Skirts

In an older post, I described a new trend- leather pants. Now, we've all moved on to skirts of the same material. Let's check in with some Polyvorians and see how they wear leather skirts...

With a girly blouse

With a jewel-toned tank

With a pale blue bustier top and vest.

With a plaid shirt and interesting boots

With a very basic top and bold accessories

Obviously, it's winter now, so unless you live in sunny California, would wear tights underneath.

Happy Turkey Day!

Well, we have a lot to be thankful for in the last year- let's recap, shall we?

The election of the first African American president!

Britney Spears, cleaning up her act!

Twilight? Any Edward Cullen fans out there?

And other stuff that I can't think of :)

But, we also have things that we are NOT at all thankful for...
The failing economy
The passing of Proposition 8
The California fires
Sarah Palin
Heath Ledger's death

I hope my fellow Americans eat a lot and enjoy their day- I personally hate Thanksgiving- I never was a turkey person! Especially after seeing that horrifying Palin interview. Ugh!

So have a good turkey day!!!!

Winter's Here - Yay?

IT SNOWED TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goodbye sweet denim shorts! As it gets colder and colder [up here in the Northern hemisphere!], you reach for your cozy scarf, thick coat, and in some places, even a pair of gloves. Many Polyvorians are already prepared for the cold season.

Vests were amazingly popular this year, and there is no question why. There are many different types of vests- and when you chose the one that suits you best, it works extremely well with the rest of your wardrobe and can be worn in many ways.

You don't have to stop wearing your favorite summer dress just because it's getting chillier-; there is a solution- cardigans! They're super comfy and cute, and they are fantastic for layering! Polyvorians are also fans of cardigans- take a look.

I really like this Miu Miu bow cardigan- the gray version is in the first set displayed. I just had to put both up!!

The Best Denim - Spring 2009 RTW

And the award goes to... William Rast!
I just love Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala's line- they really pulled it off this season!
I have to tell you, when I was picking up my bat mitzvah dress at this boutique, I strolled over to the jeans section. I picked up the most incredible jeans I've ever seen- medium-light wash with perfect distressing and fading. I tryed them on- they fit perfectly! I was soo happy... until I looked at the price tag! Of course they were William Rast, and of course I picked up the most expensive item in the store! Well, I do have good taste :)

Here are some of my favorite looks from the collection...

The casualness of this look is great- and the coloring on the jeans is absolutely perfect for just  hanging out!
These jeans are a bit risky- but I think someone like Kate Hudson could rock them.
Something about the simpleness of this outfit makes me smile. I like how the jeans have a teensy bit of color.

I'm back!

So, with school and the bat mitzvah planning, life has been hectic! I apologize- I haven't updated in soo long!!! In the next few days I'll make that up to you :)

NYC Fashion Week: Looks I Love

Believe it or not, Spring 2009 MB Fashion Week in NYC is almost half way over- but the style is unending. Here are some fabulous looks-

Nothing screams Spring [besides florals] more than butterflies, and they were shown at the
Koi Suwannagate show.
I love this Ruffian outfit- especially that ruffled blouse!!
Alexander Wang used my favorite color for this short suit- I'm in love!
I would so wear this Lacoste ombre inspired dress when I play tennis :)
New designers Vena Cava impress everyone with their Spring 2009 collection- and I LOVE this blue dress.

Artistt of the week: Solange

So I'm doing a new thing here, [music] artist of the week- and this week I have to award the title to Solange. She is Beyonce's little sister no more! Her retro inspired sound  and fantastic voice have got thousands of people [including myself] hooked. Solange's album has reached number nine on the Billboard Top 100. After watching the video for her top single, I decided, I was in love at 0:10. But, besides music, Solange has made many fashion statements and set many trends. Here's a look:
In the Big Apple at a CD signing in a tiered and belted mini dress with black furry booties.
Visting the Late Show With David Letterman in a feathered vest, pink booties, a black and white tee, and Armani jeans.

What do you think of Solange?

Gossip Girl Glamour

The glamour doesn't stop when the stars step off set!Gossip Girl returned last night for its second season, and I am again, hooked.

Chuck Bass, strutting his stuff in the city, whether wearing a green tuxedo or purple pants, he's always dressed bold.
Ed, off set looking dapper in a khaki suit, is planning his own clothing line.

Serena, with mom Lilly, is always a trend setter no matter if she looks like she just woke up.

Blake, off set in a purple Tadashi Shoji, a trend setter.

Blair, Queen B and traffic stopper.

Leighton, off set, also a traffic stopper in a Jill Stuart maxi dress and large sunglasses.

Chace- smoking hot as Nate Archibald, and still hot off the set as well!
